This specimen with the bright fluorescent yellow crystals is sulfur. It is formed in pockets near volcanic vents and fumaroles where hot gases steam out. Sulfur can also form when there is weathering that occurs of sulfate and sulfide mineral deposits. This specimen is approximately 5” * 3.75” * 1.75”.
