Where are your featured artists from?
We are honored to get the opportunity to represent many artists near and far. Each artist has an incredible backstory and ties with The Jewel. Jan Daggett is the store owner and resident artist. Jan has been designing jewelry for over 40 years. Central Oregon and Oregon artists abound and have wonderful ways of incorporating the beautiful scenery around us into their jewelry. Artists from Arizona or New Mexico, the East Coast and even Israel are well loved by our regular customers and fellow Oregonians. We have approximately 50 artists we represent in total in store! We do not have all artists represented here on this website (yet!) so if you saw something in store but not here online, please do reach out, we are happy to take and send photos, prices and measurements.
What is your return policy?
We offer a 14 day exchange period. If you changed your mind you can return your item to us and we will return to you a store credit in the same amount which will never expire and may be used towards any other item(s) in the store. (Items may be purchased over the phone with store credit, rather than via this website.) Refunds are rare, and generally reserved for defective goods.
what is our shipping address?
Should you need to ship an item to us here at The Jewel any packages or letters being shipped via the postal service MUST be shipped to our PO Box here in town, and we recommend using our initials and/or Jan Daggett’s name for delivery (T.J./Jan Daggett, PO Box 847, Sisters, Oregon, 97759). If you are shipping through either FedEx or UPS, please ship directly to our physical address (T.J./Jan Daggett, 221 W. Cascade Ave, Suite A, Sisters, Oregon, 97759). Do you offer custom jewelry?
Jan Daggett does offer custom jewelry designs. Feel free to call the store (541) 549-9388 to set up an appointment. We do ask for a $350 nonrefundable design consultation deposit which will be put towards your item, and depending on the project a stone search fee may be required. And feel free to stop in at any time and talk to our sales ladies to see Jan’s other designs and get a feel for the item you might want to create. dO YOU SIZE RINGS WHICH ARE PURCHASED ONLINE?
We do size rings that are purchased here, and the fee will depend on the artist. Jan Daggett designs that needs to be sized down do not generally incur a fee, while rings that need to be sized up will have a charge for the material costs. Several of our designers will size their own jewelry, and their fees vary. Please feel free to call if you have special requests for sizing, so that we may arrange a special order for you!
Do you offer jewelry repairs?
We do offer jewelry repair as a service! Our repair jeweler works within the studio in town for the vast majority of repairs, and we work with other known and trusted experts with any repairs that require non-local services. We offer ring sizing, chain repair, clasp replacement, pearl stringing, gemstone setting, replacement and tightening to name a few common conditions. We work primarily on precious metals like gold, silver, and platinum, but may be able to assist on other metals depending. We generally request 4-6 weeks for repairs, rush fees may apply upon rush requests. We use both traditional repair techniques as well as have our own laser welder for repairs that require such equipment.
